Prof. Dr. Hojae Bae is a full professor at the Department of Stem Cell and Regenerative Biology, Konkuk University, South Korea. His research is focused on developing controlled microarchitechture for engineered tissue to direct tissue morphogenesis and cell behavior for tissue engineering and biofabrication applications. Hojae has recently co-founded a company of Cellbark Innovation focused on developing cell-grown bioleather (www.cellbarkinnovation.com ) and has also scaled up the production of GelMA as a base material for bio leather. He presented their recent research and innovation in the field of cultivated meat using tissue engineering and biofabrication approaches at the Seminar Series 2024 of the SFB/TRR 225 „From the fundamentals of biofabrication towards functional tissue models”. The members of TRR 225/SFB from Bayreuth, Würzburg, and Erlangen could enjoy the intensive discussion in this field and learn from the current challenges and solutions of the field.
