Prof. Dr. Aldo R. Boccaccini, Head of the FAU Institute of Biomaterials, Spokesperson for the site Erlangen in TRR 225, has been awarded an Honorary Doctorate by Riga Technical University (RTU). The award ceremony took place on January 20, 2025 during the ceremonial opening of the new building of the Baltic Biomaterials Center of Excellence (BBCE) in Riga, Latvia. Prof. Boccaccini has been an international partner of the BBCE since its establishment in 2020 and he is currently a member of the BBCE steering committee.
The award recognizes the substantial contributions of Prof. Boccaccini to the development and scientific capacity enhancement of RTU as well as his active involvement in the development of the BBCE.
