Prof. Jürgen Groll has been awarded the Senior Investigator Award 2022 from the International Society for Biofabrication (ISBF) for his outstanding contributions to the field of Biofabrication. The award is the highest honor given by the society and recognizes individuals who have made significant and sustained contributions to the advancement of biofabrication.
The award ceremony took place during the Annual Meeting of the ISBF held in Montecatini Terme on 25-28 September 2022. The trophy was presented to Prof. Groll in recognition of his groundbreaking research and his leadership in the field of biofabrication.
Prof. Groll is the spokesperson of the SFB/TRR 225 research program, which aims to develop the biofabricated implants of the future. He is also a professor of Functional Materials in Medicine and Dentistry at the University of Würzburg and the deputy director of the Bavarian Polymer Institute.
